Naturally Unbridled Wellness LLC

I have an extremely unique background for a naturopath in that I started my career in the biotechnology industry.  I did cancer research for eight years.  When I started working for the biotech company, we were looking for a cure for cancer. By the time I left, eight years later, we were no longer looking for a cure; we were looking for a drug that would keep your cancer from growing and spreading, but you would have to take that drug for the rest of your life. That approach didn’t resonate with me so I left the biotech industry to help people and animals in other ways.

When I work with clients, I consider myself a “tour guide” on the path to your wellness goals. I will educate you about different “attractions” that may make your trip more enjoyable – homeopathy, herbs, etc.

I moved to the Coulee Region in 2011 where I live on a small farm with my husband, a couple of retired horses, some laying hens, and several pets.

If you are looking for wellness solutions instead of disease management, consider adding me to your team of practitioners.

Rachel LaValley, Fitness

Rachel LaValley, Fitness Lying Down

Rachel LaValley: I discovered my love for movement and fitness as a young girl in the Eau Claire YMCA gymnastics program. This interest grew and brought me to UW-La Crosse where I was part of the Swim & Dive team as a national competitive diver. I decided to pursue a career in health and fitness because I wanted to inspire, encourage, and motivate others to enjoy movement. In 2012, I graduated with my Bachelors in Science after studying Exercise and Sport Science and Nutrition. Since then, I have been working at the La Crosse Area Family YMCA as a personal trainer, group exercise instructor, and LIVESTRONG as the YMCA assistant coordinator. Along with joining the Fitness Lying Down team, I am working towards my Masters in Public Health at UW-L. In my free time you will find me on my bike, hiking, on the water, attempting to cook, or lounging with my cat.  http://fitnesslyingdown.com/

The Therapy Place of La Crosse: We offer a wide variety of outpatient mental health services for children adolescents, adults and families. We serve the greater La Crosse area and offer over 75 years of expertise provided by licensed therapists. We each have unique talents and we can rely on each other and others in our life who care about us and wanted to help.  On one particular evening I was painting a shelf to hang in the office.  I noticed after I was finished that I missed a side.  After a long day, it would be easy to get upset about this or maybe say something not so nice to myself about my lack of attention to detail.  Instead I stopped and I thought “I should leave this, and hang a sign on it that says Welcome to The Therapy Place where no one is perfect”.   I did end up painting that side of the shelf but I also realized that that is the philosophy.  There have been many mishaps in our adventure.  We had a lot of opportunity to get worked up, focus on blame (either ourselves or others) for mistakes, say bad things to ourselves or others, but in the end no one is perfect and this imperfection did not get in the way of our dream.  Instead we worked on embracing difficult feelings, choosing to mindfully move forward (even when we were scared), tend to relationships with each other and those around us, and appreciate and be grateful for all the people in our lives who support our imperfect selves.   As humans there are many things that can get in our way.  Past events, fears, negative thoughts, circumstances that seem impossible to overcome, but in the end we decide how we are going to move forward in our lives even if it isn’t perfect, or exactly as we had planned.  We would like to help those who come to The Therapy Place do just that.  Please review our website for more information or call us directly to arrange an appointment. http://www.thetherapyplacelax.com/
