We have the misfortune of living in one of the most Lyme Disease endemic areas in the world. It is suspected that Lyme-carrying ticks traveled on a convoy from a military base in Lyme, Connecticut to Ft. McCoy, Wisconsin where the first case in the state was recorded. If you look at the Lyme maps, you will see that it spreads out from there… like a bullseye. At least it’s pretty here.

When we moved to the Coulee Region in 2011, I quickly learned that I needed to become proficient in Lyme matters as we were seeing lots of cases. Over the years, we have developed programs and added technology to support our clients in overcoming their Lyme challenges.

Here’s the kicker… most people who come to our office and go through our programs have no idea that they have Lyme Disease. Since only a medical doctor can diagnose Lyme, we just “see” how their body responds to supplements, remedies, and services known to be supportive to people with Lyme and… whaddya know… they feel better. Another thing to consider is that more than a dozen infections are carried by ticks.  You can test negative for Borrelia Burgdorferi (the “Lyme” bacteria) and contract several other infections that present with similar symptoms – but if your Lyme test is negative, you won’t be treated or diagnosed.

What are some of the signs that you might have Lyme or another tick-borne infection?

  • Fatigue
  • Joint and muscle pain
  • Tingling
  • Numbness and burning sensations
  • A stiff neck
  • Headaches
  • Light and sound sensitivity
  • Dizziness
  • Difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep
  • Memory and concentration problems
  • Chest pain with palpitations
  • Psychiatric symptoms such as depression and anxiety
