Hang in there. We might be able to help you… You might have a chronic, systemic (throughout the body) yeast infection (aka Candida). Of course, I’m just educating here – not diagnosing or prescribing. But here is some information you may find useful about chronic, systemic yeast infections:
How Could This Happen? Yeast normally and naturally inhabits the human body – inside and outside – and that is ok. But yeast is a greedy little microorganism and it is opportunistic. It looks for any and every opportunity to multiply. Under normal circumstances, your body keeps the population of yeast in balance with other microorganisms and life is good. However, if you become stressed out, take a course of anti-biotics, have been pregnant, ill, or injured, or have chronically poor nutrition, yeast can quickly become over-populated and chaos results.
Then What Happens? As yeast reproduce they crowd out and kill off lots of the beneficial bacteria that you need to keep in balance (homeostasis). Yeast are fermenters (hence beer and wine) and feed on sugar and create a lot of gas. The demand more and more sugar to fuel their little microscopic selves. They also disrupt the balance of hormones and other biochemicals in the body which can make you feel like you are losing your mind.
Where Do You Go From Here? It’s critical to kill off the yeast but unless you take measures to keep them in check, they will grow back. Fear not! I have some tips for you…
If possible, try to determine what caused your body to weaken so that the yeast took over. Antibiotics (even if it was years ago) are a common culprit but injury, illness, pregnancy, a stressful life or job and certainly the Standard American Diet may be at fault as well. The stressful life and job are often the most difficult to deal with but some Holistic Life Coaching may help you find some solutions to that. As long as you are not currently on antibiotics, that’s the easiest to fix. If your chronic, systemic yeast infection is due to poor diet – that’s easy to fix if you’re committed and willing to make some changes before you feel like you have completely lost your mind. Some Holistic Wellness Coaching or a Holistic Nutrition Program, may help you with that. Also, diabetics and people with blood sugar issues are the perfect Petri dish for a major yeast issue. It’s helpful if you can determine what weakened you and led to this infection but it’s not necessary as long as you are willing to take steps to squash the yeast and create an environment within your body that keeps the bacteria: yeast ratio in balance.
